Two political commentators are split on the appropriateness of National Security Minister, Dr. Horace Chang’s verbal attack on Jamaicans for Justice, JFJ, accusing the human rights lobby of living off blood money.

Founder and executive director of the Jamaican Association for Debating and Empowerment, JADE, Germaine Barrett, described the comment as inappropriate.

However, Kevin O’Brien Chang, defend Dr. Chang’s view as wholly representative of the belief of the majority of Jamaicans.

The rhetoric surrounding Jamaica’s murder rate and the rise in police fatal killings has escalated Monday evening.

In a candid comment speaking with Nationwide News, National Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang accused JFJ of living off blood money due to its constant criticism of the police force.

Germaine Barrett is questioning the sensibility of Dr. Chang’s statements on what is an emotionally charged issue.
